Chess schools, classes and lessons in Budapest 8

Most of the chess teaching listed here is for children, and much of it happens in a sakkiskola, a chess school that is often also a club with its own teams. Sakkmatyi Sakkiskola teaches at the Grund64 chess room in Józsefváros, where Grund64 runs its own children’s classes on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons, and offers online lessons, kindergarten and school circles, private courses and an autumn day camp. The Hűvösvölgyi Sakkiskola trains in groups by level on Thursday afternoons, and the Óbudai Sakkiskola and the Városgazda youth academy in the XVIII. kerület field youth teams in the Budapest league.

Other providers come to the children: a school chess service runs paid weekly groups in primary schools of several districts, and the Budapest-Régiós Sakkiskola holds a short series of autumn training days in rating-based groups at a hotel in Kispest. Outside the city, the Szentendrei Sakkiskola plays its league matches at a primary school in Szentendre.
